About the SJN
Who we are
The Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Justice Network (SJN) Cluster is a dedicated component of the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Movement. Established under the Amplify Change project in Nigeria, SJN is actively working towards ensuring justice for victims/survivors of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) through both legal avenues and service delivery.
The Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Justice Network (SJN) is a cluster that came together from the Strengthening Civic advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE) Palladium USAID Supported Project.
The SJN is facilitated by Lawyers Alert and is operational in Benue, Kaduna, Osun, Enugu and Bauchi.
The Cluster is a 7-member cluster that is ensuring justice for victims/survivors of SGBV through the courts and service delivery.
The Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Justice Network (SJN) is dedicated to combating the high prevalence of SGBV in Nigeria and addressing the shortcomings of the justice system. Recognizing the slow and expensive nature of the criminal justice system within states, SJN aims to provide survivors and victims of SGBV with access to justice that is both efficient and affordable. By offering courses, programs, and initiatives, SJN seeks to empower women and the poor who are disproportionately affected by these issues.
How it Started
Our roots trace back to the Amplify Change project in Nigeria, where SJN was initiated and flourished under the implementation efforts of Lawyers Alert.
